Do you want to learn something new or improve your ICT skills then look at the following?

The Heathland School wishes to support our local community in their quest for knowledge and understanding of basic computing skills.

We realise that supporting your children with their studies when you have little understanding of computers and the programmes can  be very difficult.

We would therefore like to offer you the opportunity to study ECDL or ETYPE both are internationally recognised qualifications that enable you to use and understand everything you need to work and operate your computer.  This is done at your own pace through a series of drop in sessions and online examinations carried out under supervised conditions in school.

There are regular class based support sessions available and email support is always available.

Eric, from the ‘Learning Performance’ organisation, led the workshop and ensured we remained thoroughly engaged throughout the day through regular physical challenges, games and music. However we all took home his logical tips on memory skills, stress, exam preparation and critical reasoning reassured all of us that we were capable of far more if we used the right techniques. It’s definitely a workshop that we’d thoroughly recommend.

We heard about college students meeting ghosts, beasts and ghosts in graveyards, a haunted house, scurrying cockroaches and crumbling skeletons.

By popular vote, the scariest stories were told by Tamira Ann (7 Turner), Babita Bedi (8 Palmer), and Rohan Sethi (8 Hogarth). The ugliest/scariest face-paint winners chosen were Khadija Nawaz (8 Palmer) and Laksman Maheswaran (7 Gresham).

Chocolates, scary novels, Dracula cloaks, Halloween balloons, Witch wigs, Witch hats and Black Bat hats were awarded. Everyone present got skull lollies to enjoy and took home card models to construct of Dracula, flying bats, pumpkins,  their choice of Frankenstein's monster, Werewolf, and Mummy masks, and good diary comments for entering competitions and for attending the event.

The Halloween bookmark colouring in competition brought in many entries and the best seven were entered by
