The Heathland is Aiming High

The Heathland School is delighted to announce that Miss Legg’s vision to install a state of the art Climbing Wall in the PE Department has been realized. Miss Legg was inspired by the tremendous enjoyment and success pupils experienced in overcoming the challenging wall climb activity during the annual watersports trip in Spain.

The company Entre-Prises Limited, who have a world wide reputation for this product, won the tendering process back in March. A date was set for installation and staff training and the climbing wall engineers arrived at The Heathland School on Monday 22nd June. After 4 days of hard work and long hours in high temperatures the climbing wall was complete.

We are very grateful to Apinder Sidhu, Central Hounslow Extended Schools Co-coordinator, for her support in accessing funds to support this project. We are hopeful that at a later date we will be able to extend the wall to accommodate more climbing lines.

The PE Department will be using the climbing wall in lessons, extra curricular clubs and evening events.

Our first event will be a ‘Ladies Night’ on Thursday 9th July. Keep an eye out for posters and letters to take on the challenge of the new wall.
