6th Form Mock Oxbridge Interviews
I was fortunate enough to take part in the mock interview day held at school on Saturday the 9th of November. The experience was extremely useful, and the conditions did feel realistic. My panel consisted of a teacher and ex-pupil, who went on to graduate from medical school. The fact I was unfamiliar with either face gave the interview a serious, formal tone.
The range of questions covered most bases for a typical medicine interview; including why I want to study medicine, questions about my personal experiences and discussion of potential NHS reform. There was a particular question which I struggled with, so I’m glad that I came across an area for improvement. I got detailed feedback afterwards which left me with knowledge of my strengths, and more importantly let me know what I need to improve on.
Overall the mock interview experience was invaluable and has left me feeling much more confident as I prepare for the real thing.
