Year 7 experience the Gamelan

In February, a group of Year 7 students went to experience the world of Indonesian Gamelan at the South Bank Centre.  They learnt how to play instruments such as the Kempul, Kenong, Gong and Kethuk, and they managed to perform a Gamelan cycle together.  All were amazed how different the instruments sounded to what they would usually play in class, particularly the deep sound of the Gong!  Great fun was had by all.
