Success stories

This year saw the Performing Arts Department grow from strength to strength with an increasing number of students having the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of events. Below are just a few of our highlights:

Gala Evening

This year’s Gala Evening included a range of vocal and instrumental performances. Pupils from all year groups were represented and the Year 7 choir was particularly impressive. The department hopes that this opportunity to sing in front of a live
audience will inspire a passion for performing in the future. There were also performances from our school orchestra and steel band and many superb soloists.

Heathland’s Got Talent

Our annual talent showcase of the best musicians, dancers and entertainers. This year we saw performances ranging from bhangra dancing to hilarious comedians and everything in between. A great night displaying the talents of our students.

Annie

Our production of Annie was a huge success. With many parts being taken by some of our younger pupils, it is exciting to see the talent that we have coming through the school. We are currently rehearsing for our production of Oliver, keep an eye out for tickets in March 2027!

We have a year 7 & 8 Drama Club and a Year 9 Drama Club both of which have performed to students at lunch times this year.

Trips and Visits

This year we had a truly magical trip to the Theatre Royal Drury Lane to see Hercules; it was thoroughly enjoyed by staff and students alike. Last year we saw The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre and GCSE Drama students saw Witness of the Prosecution at the London County Hall.
