The Heathland School Careers Service helps 6th form students’ make informed choices on their future career and educational direction. By providing impartial advice and guidance, students’ can confidently make those important choices that will help shape their future.

Creating a strong professional profile and developing informed opinions is crucial for a springboard to success. Therefore, the Careers Service provides - for the world of work and University:

  • Personal statement advice
  • University course choices
  • Job applications
  • Interview help
  • Apprenticeships

Gaining knowledge from industry experts is essential in developing awareness and insight. The Careers Service invites speakers to the 6th form to deliver talks from a wide range of careers, for example:

  • Deloitte,
  • Sky Lawyers,
  • ARUP and
  • Goldman Sachs
  • Doctors
  • The Police
  • Charities
  • Killik & Co.

External trips provide a meaningful way of broadening students’ horizons and knowledge. An annual trip for our potential engineers to the Institution of Mechanical Engineers in Westminster is always insightful. They engage in challenges and learn about an exciting career and the opportunities available.

By providing a wide range of activities and advice the Career Service helps to develop student’s confidence, inform them of their choices and provides support and guidance to ensure they are prepared for whatever their future holds.
