Learning Support and SEN

This policy is based on the recommendations contained in the Code of Practice and provides the information required by the Education Act, 1996. It provides a staged approach to pupils with special educational needs, based on a ‘continuum of needs and a continuum of provision’ [Code of Practice: 1.2.]. Above all, it is designed to ensure that the commitment to excellence which is at the heart of the school’s Mission Statement applies in full measure to pupils with special needs and those whose difficulties arise from an insufficiently developed command of English.
