Technology is taught by our experienced team of teachers in a suite of specialist teaching areas. The subject of Technology emphasises the importance of practical capability and provides opportunities for pupils to develop their powers of innovation, decision-making and creating new solutions to real problems.
At Key Stage 3, pupils develop their skills by working with a variety of materials including food, graphics, textiles and wood, metal and plastics. They make appropriate use of ICT applications and are encouraged to attend extra curricular activities to develop their interest and enjoyment of the subject.
At Key Stage 4, pupils are offered the opportunity to study GCSE Design and Technology, GCSE Art & Design: Textiles and GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition. They can also take the NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Food and Cookery.
In the Sixth Form, an A Level course is offered in Fashion (Textiles).
