Welcome, Headmaster Mr H.S.Pattar Bsc (econ)

The Heathland School is an 11-18 Co-educational Community Comprehensive School. As an academic comprehensive school, The Heathland School provides a broad general education for girls and boys in an environment of high achievement. Within a traditional ethos the school encourages each individual pupil (regardless of age, sex, race, culture or disability) to strive for excellence and to realise his or her potential in order to prepare for their adult lives, at home, at work, at leisure and within the wider community.

We follow the London Borough of Hounslow admission policy and parents of pupils who wish to apply for a place at the school should contact the Education Department, Civic Centre, Lampton Road, Hounslow. Parents will be interested to know that our standard admission number is 270 pupils.

The Heathland School has an established reputation as an outstanding centre of learning with a tradition of academic excellence. Our strong record of university places signifies our aim to provide all pupils with an environment which will encourage them to access higher education in some of the best universities in the country. The special qualities we offer are a committed, enthusiastic and well qualified staff teaching in a school where traditional standards of courtesy and discipline are paramount.

We are pleased that generations of parents, some of whom were educated at The Heathland, place a high value on our unique ethos. One of the best objective judgements about this ethos is our most recent Ofsted Inspection which is quoted on this website and features in our prospectus. The headline in the Ofsted Report neatly expresses our qualities: “The Heathland School is an outstanding school with a strong commitment to inclusion. All members of the school community work consistently hard to maintain high standards and to serve the needs of young people in the local area.”

    • On the day of the 15th June, a group of 30 G+T students visited the Royal Observatory, in Greenwich, a museum of time and astronomy.

As the long journey there had finally drawn to a close, we took part in an intriguing workshop to learn some of the properties of the nine planets in the Milky Way and beyond. After that, we went to witness the highlight of the day: The only Planetarium in London. As I stepped into the room, I wasn’t exactly too sure about how the planetarium would work, but once I sat down onto my seat, I forgot about the world around me and gazed up in wonder, to be met by a beautiful flurry of the most realistic stars and planets ever to be seen.

On a whole, our time there was educational, stretching our knowledge about the Solar System far beyond the NC level, yet immensely entertaining. I would strongly recommend it to any G+T students in the future.

Do you want to learn something new or improve your ICT skills then look at the following?

The Heathland School wishes to support our local community in their quest for knowledge and understanding of basic computing skills.

We realise that supporting your children with their studies when you have little understanding of computers and the programmes can  be very difficult.

We would therefore like to offer you the opportunity to study ECDL or ETYPE both are internationally recognised qualifications that enable you to use and understand everything you need to work and operate your computer.  This is done at your own pace through a series of drop in sessions and online examinations carried out under supervised conditions in school.

There are regular class based support sessions available and email support is always available.

If you are interested in knowing more send your details through this link  Elearning@heathland.hounslow.sch.uk or call reception and leave a name and contact number for Mrs Fideli, so that I can call you back.

    RSS Feeds

The Heathland School RSS feeds provide an easy way of keeping track of changes on updates to the website.

There are two RSS feeds available per page: one allows you to track changes on the content of the page. The other will allow you to track new comments that are left on the page.

In addition, the news areas provide a feed that will update you on new stories as they are published.

If you require more information on RSS feeds, the BBC provide more detailed information here.
