Heathland Destinations and outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At The Heathland School, we are proud of the fact that majority of our pupils with SEND (93%) in 2021 successfully transitioned to post-16 education, apprenticeships, or work-based training. In the main, 61% of pupils enrolled at one of the main post-16 education providers in the local area. 32% enrolled into Sixth Form and 7% pursued apprenticeships or work-based training.

Despite working remotely at home for a large portion of their time in 6th form, we are extremely proud of their resilience and hard work which has enabled them to secure outstanding offers from top universities such as: Brunel, Roehampton, Oxford Brookes, Kingston, Leicester, Reading St, Georges, St Andrews and Arts University Bournemouth. 83% of Year 13 students with SEND are currently at university and 17% have pursued other options including work-based training.
