A level Business allows students to have a commercial awareness, allowing students to have a strong understanding of how business in the UK economy and global economy operate to maximise sales and profits. As well as this students appreciate the ethical responsibilities of business with respect to the environment, poverty and trade. A range of fields are investigated; marketing, human resources, finance, production. Students develop analytical and problem solving sills which are transferable – allowing young people to apply their skills set to real life cases as well as provide them with the knowledge to set up their own business.

What career opportunities are there?
Many graduates work directly in the City of London, taking up career opportunities in management consultancy, finance analyst, banking, project management, sales and business development, marketing, business analyst and human resources and accountancy. Careers in the fields mentioned exist in the private sector as well as the public sector (teaching, managing public funds, procurement, managing infrastructure projects).
