Why study the Business Management and Administration Technical Level (T Level) qualification?
The T Level is a two-year course equivalent to three A Levels. The course is split into 80% classroom based learning and 20% on an industry placement where students will be applying their classroom learning directly to real life situations in the workplace, spanning at least 45 days, in a supportive environment. This combined method of learning which has been designed with key employers, will give students a head start towards the career they want and a competitive edge over purely academic routes. Students build a valuable skills set that employers are searching for whilst allowing them to keep their future options open.
The industry placement provides numerous benefits:
- Start networking with potential future employers
- Put studies into context and practice skills in real work environment
- Add details of experience to CV to discuss at future interviews
- Potential to secure a job or an apprenticeship with the employer after students have completed the T Level.
- Allows students to check this is the career they want to pursue.
Classroom learning:
The T Level qualification is made up of two components.
- During the first year, students cover foundational business concepts such as business governance, people resources, quality and compliance as well as project management.
- In the second year students choose a specific pathway to focus on for their practical and second year studies. Choices available are Team Leadership and management, Business Support and Business Improvement.
Assessment methods:
- Two written core examinations which test theoretical knowledge.
- An employer-set project to assess students’ ability to apply knowledge and skills in a real world context.
- A synoptic practical assignment which links directly to the chosen occupational specialism
