During the first week of October, students from 10D1 and 10G1 were given the opportunity to take part in Jack Petchey’s “Speak Out” Challenge. The competition is a regional event for students from London and Essex schools. Its overall aim is to promote the skills, confidence and desire to speak in public. Students participated in a variety of lively workshops, turning the usually peaceful library into a hotbed of free-flying opinion and debate. It certainly looks like the school should expect a few success stories from next year’s English Speaking and Listening exams.
