50 Year 12 students complete the Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award eacher year - several then progress to the Gold Awards in Year 13.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme continues to thrive at the Heathland School, with over 50 students from Y12 achieving the Silver Award each year. Year 13 students are also going for Gold! In the words of one of our students,  ‘A lucky ten of us were given the opportunity to participate in this prestigious Gold Award; and thus the ‘once in a lifetime’ chance to meet Prince Phillip himself. Although the first expedition to Phasel’s Wood was tough, it was definitely worth the blisters and we are eagerly awaiting our next challenge!’
