UCAS Support in the Sixth Form

Every year, approximately 200 students complete their Sixth Form studies at The Heathland School and progress to a wide range of destinations including Russell Group universities, specialist institutions, degree apprenticeships and employment pathways. Our students study an impressive range of courses, from Medicine, Dentistry and Law to Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Psychology, Creative Arts and many more.  The university application journey begins early in Year 12. Students receive personalised guidance throughout the entire higher education application process, helping them make informed decisions about their future and submit the strongest possible applications.

Every student receives tailored support regardless of their chosen course, university or career pathway.

Higher Education Day

Our annual Higher Education Day brings together representatives from a wide range of universities and higher education providers. Students can:

  • Attend subject-specific talks
  • Explore course options
  • Receive UCAS application guidance
  • Learn about student finance and university life
  • Discuss accommodation, careers and employability opportunities

Personal Statement Guidance

We provide extensive support to help students produce competitive personal statements through:

  • Support from form tutors and subject teachers
  • Personal statement review and improvement surgeries

Additional support is available for students applying to highly competitive courses and universities, including:
